PHILIPPINES PARTICIPATES IN THE FOLLOW-UP ROUNDTABLE MEETING ON RAW MATERIALS SUPPLY CHAIN PARTNERSHIP

06 March 2022, Seoul - Minister and Consul General Romulo Victor Israel Jr. represented the Philippines in the follow-up roundtable meeting convened by the ROK Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) supply chain partnership on 24 February 2022 at the Lotte Hotel Seoul.
The Philippines is part of the ten resource-rich nations that participate in the regular roundtable discussion on supply chain cooperation convened by MOTIE. During the meeting, the Philippines reiterated that as one of the world’s major suppliers of raw nickel, cobalt, and copper needed for the global value chain, it looks forward to collaborating with ROK in the supply assurance and processing of these minerals through programs benefiting both countries. The Philippines invites Korean companies to invest in the sustainable processing of minerals and ores, as the Philippine government aims to revitalize the mining industry. ROK Minister for Trade Yeo Han Koo welcomed the Philippines’ invitation and expressed interest in facilitating Korean investments in the mining industry. END
Philippine Embassy Donates Traditional Attire to The Multiculture Museum
SEOUL, 3 March 2022 - Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega met today with Mr. Kim Yun Tae, Chairman of the Board of the Multiculture Museum to discuss potential projects for cultural exchange. The highlight of the meeting was the donation by the Embassy of a set of traditional Filipino attire – a Filipiniana gown and a piña barong – to be permanently displayed in the museum’s world costume exhibition. The exhibition showcases traditional attire donated by Embassies from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Central and South America. The Multiculture Museum likewise gave the Ambassador a plaque of appreciation and a modern Hanbok blazer.
Chairman Kim expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Dizon-De Vega for the donation and offered the museum as a venue for forthcoming projects of the Embassy. Ambassador Dizon-De Vega thanked Chairman Kim for his offer and conveyed the Embassy’s willingness to revitalize the partnership with the museum through possible future projects, including a textile and weaving exhibition, a printmaking exhibition, and culinary promotion.
Joining Ambassador Dizon-De Vega at the event were Cultural Officer Anthony Cornista and Political-Economic section Assistant Vivienne Velasquez. END
