REMINDERS ON PASSPORT RENEWAL AND REGISTRATION OF BIRTH
The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to remind the Filipino public in South Korea of the following:
- For Filipinos who applied for the renewal of their passports, you are required by the Korean Immigration to report the particulars of your new passport to a local or district immigration office having jurisdiction over your place of stay, within 14 days upon receipt of your new passport.
- For children born to Filipino parents, if the child and the mother will stay in Korea for less than 90 days, the child is required to be registered with the Philippine Embassy and apply for a Philippine passport. For the procedure on how to report the birth of a child, please refer to http://www.philembassy-seoul.com/consular.asp#pt7.
If the child is staying in Korea for more than 90 days, the child is required to have an Alien Registration Card (ARC) from the Korean Immigration.
Failure to comply with the above will result in the parents being penalized by the Korean Immigration. The penalty shall be determined by the said agency.
