SEC ADVISORIES ON ILLEGAL INVESTMENT-TAKING ACTIVITIES
The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to share with the Filipino Community in South Korea several Advisories issued by the by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) warning the public about the illegal investment-taking activities in its efforts to advise them to be more cautious in light of rampant Ponzi schemes and/or alleged investment schemes circulating publicly and online.
The Advisories pertain to both registered (entities registered with SEC but not authorized to solicit investment from the public) and unregistered entities (entities neither registered as a corporation or as a partnership with the SEC). Unfortunately, some of the victims of these Ponzi schemes are our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
SEC advises the public to exercise prudence and caution before investing money in these types of schemes, which may turn out to be Fraudulent Investment Schemes.
Attached is the list of SEC Advisories for 2019 with thirty-three (33) entities. The public is urged to report any operations of the listed entities to the Enforcement and Investor Protection Department at telephone numbers (+632) 818-6337 or (+632) 818-5324.
For more details on the announcement, the public is advised to visit www.sec.gov.ph.
