ADVISORY ON THE 2023 BAGONG BAYANI AWARDS
The Philippine Embassy informs the public that the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI), in coordination with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has officially announced that the nominations for 2023 Bagong Bayani Awards are now open.

There are five (5) award categories that allow the recognition of specific contributions of OFWs corresponding to the different areas of their involvements:
- Bagong Bayani Award for Outstanding Employee
- Bagong Bayani Award for Community and Social Service
- Bagong Bayani Award for Culture and the Arts
- Capt. Gregorio S. Oca Achievement Award
- Blas F. Ople Award para sa Natatanging Bagong Bayani
Any active Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), whether land-based or sea-based and possessing the following qualifications, may be nominated for pre-qualification:
- Has no past or present criminal or derogatory record;
- Must be of good moral standing, or has received recognition from past or present employer for exemplary behavior or outstanding service; and
- The employment contract must have been processed by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) / Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and must not have left the country irregularly or as a tourist.

The awarding is scheduled on August 23, 2023 in Malacañan Palace with the President as Guest of Honor. (END)
EMBASSY TO OPEN ON SUNDAY, 22 JANUARY 2023 FOR OVERSEAS VOTER REGISTRATION
The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public that it will be open on Sunday, 22 January 2023, from 09:30 A.M. to 12:00 N.N. to accept Overseas Voter Registration applications.
Applicants are reminded that they can already download and fill out the Overseas Voter Registration Form (OVF1) from the COMELEC website:
https://comelec.gov.ph/php-tpls-attachments/OverseasVoting/2023RegForms/AnnexA_OVF1.pdf
The OVF1 can also be accomplished manually at the Embassy.
The accomplished OVF1 should then be brought to the Voter Registration Machine (VRM) Operator at Room 102 of the Embassy, together with a valid Philippine Passport and a photocopy of the datapage or, in case the latter is not available, any of the following:
- Certification from the Embassy that the applicant either has submitted documents necessary and sufficient for the issuance of a Philippine passport or has a valid passport but is unable to present the same due to a valid reason;
- Identification Certificate (for dual citizens) and a photocopy thereof; or
- Seafarer’s Book (for seafarers) and a photocopy of the datapage. END
