FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Ano ba ang bagong patakaran ng Korea Immigration Service (KIS)?
Simula sa 1 Hulyo 2021, ang panahon ng pananatili ng mga foreigner ay ibibigay ng KIS sa loob lamang ng panahon ng bisa ng pasaporte.
- Sino-sino ang maapektuhan ng bagong patakaran?
Ang bagong patakaran ng KIS ay para sa lahat ng mga foreigner na may hawak ng kahit na anong valid Korean visa, MALIBAN SA MGA SUMUSUNOD:
- F-5/ Permanent Resident Visa
- F-2-4/ Refugee Visa
- G-1-6/ Humanitarian Visa
Kung ang iyong hawak na Korean visa ay hindi nakalista sa taas (halimbawa: F-6, E-9, E-7, atbp.), ikaw ay apektado ng bagong patakaran.
- Nag-extend ako ng aking Korean visa noong (petsa bago dumating ang 01 July 2021), apektado ba ako ng mga bagong alituntunin?
Ang bagong patakaran ng KIS ay ipapatupad simula ika-1 ng Hulyo, 2021.
Ang mga manggagawang sakop ng Employment Permit System (EPS) na mag-e-extend ng visa para sa pangalawang sojourn (karagdagang 1 year at 10 months) bago ang ika-1 ng Hulyo, 2021, ay hindi maapektuhan ng bagong alituntunin.
- Ako ay isang dual Filipino-Korean citizen. Apektado ba ako ng bagong patakaran?
Ang patakarang ito ay para lamang sa mga foreigner at hindi para sa mga Korean citizens.
- Ako ay isa sa mga maapektuhan ng bagong patakaran ng KIS. Gusto kong mag pa-renew ng passport bago ako mag-apply ng visa extension ngunit puno na ang schedule ng Embahada. Ano ang pwede kong gawin?

INVITATION FOR THE VIRTUAL FORUM ON LABOR MOBILITY AND THE GLOBAL COMPACT FOR SAFE, ORDERLY AND REGULAR MIGRATION
The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to invite the Filipino community in South Korea to attend the online forum/webinar entitled “Labor Mobility and Human Rights: Examining Migrant Labor Governance in the Middle East in the Context of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration“ on 20 April 2021, Tuesday, 5 pm Korea time.
The webinar seeks to discuss the Global Compact of Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) – a primary United Nations process to protect all Filipino migrant workers against all forms of exploitation and abuse, and guarantee decent work for them – in relation to the positive developments in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar, respectively, which address the negative effects of the Kafala system. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro L. Locsin are expected to deliver their messages in the virtual forum.
The virtual forum is organized by the Office of the Undersecretary of Migrant Worker Affairs (OUMWA) and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human resources and Social Development in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the University of the Philippines – CIFAL (Centre Internationale de Formation des Autorites et Leaders).

KOREA IMMIGRATION POLICY ON PERIOD OF STAY
The Philippine Embassy in Seoul was requested by the Korea Immigration Service (KIS) – Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to share the following with the Filipino community in South Korea: starting 01 July 2021, the period of stay of foreigners will be granted only within the passport validity period.
For instance, even if the person is eligible for a 2-year extension, if his or her passport is only valid for six (6) months, the period of stay shall only be extended for six (6) months.
To avoid inconvenience, our kababayan are advised to ensure that their passports are duly updated, especially those who are applying for the extension of their stay in South Korea.
