16 April 2022, Seoul. Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega led the Philippine Embassy team at its first consular outreach mission since the start of the pandemic from 15 to 16 April 2022 in Busan. The Embassy rendered close to 330 services to members of the Filipino community, including e-passport applications, notarials, legalization, civil registry, and other services.
Representatives from PAG-IBIG, POLO, and OWWA, also joined the outreach and rendered a combined 252 services, including renewal of OWWA and OEC processing, contract verification, and COVID-related assistance, among others.
The Embassy’s first mobile voting for the 2022 Philippine national elections overseas voting period was also conducted during the said consular outreach.
Ambassador Dizon-De Vega said that the consular outreach was a priority activity by the Embassy immediately upon the easing of COVID-19 related restrictions by the Korean government. She also said that the Embassy plans to resume consular outreach activities to reach various Filipino communities in Korea, including one in Daegu to be held at the Grand Daegu Hotel from 29 to 30 April 2022.
The Ambassador with team leader Vice Consul Jilliane De Dumo-Cornista awarded certificates of appreciation to volunteers from the Busan Filipino Community Center for their invaluable contribution to the success of the outreach. END
