SEOUL, 17 July 2022 — Philippine Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega called on the new ROK Minister for Defense Acquisition Program Administration Eom Dong-Hwan in his Office in Gyeonggi-do on 12 July 2022.

During the call, both sides reaffirmed the Philippines and the Republic of Korea’s commitment to active defense cooperation through future PH-ROK initiatives in defense modernization and participation in each country’s respective aerospace, naval, and military defense exhibitions. Ambassador De Vega also discussed the Philippines’ defense modernization plan with Minister Eom and its phased process, noting that the Republic of Korea is one of the key partner countries of the Philippines as it continues to pursue enhancement of defense capabilities.
