Requirements:


For natural born Filipino citizens:


  1. Application for Retention or Re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship
  2. Petition for Retention and Reacquisition of Philippine citizenship
  3. Six (6) pcs. of 2x2 colored pictures (Front) over white background
  4. One (1) pc. of 2x2 colored pictures (Left side view) over white background
  5. One (1) pc. of 2x2 colored pictures (Right side view) over white background
  6. Oath of Renunciation of Philippine citizenship
  7. The original and three (3) photocopies of each of the following documents:
    • NSO Birth Certificate
    • NSO Marriage Certificate / Copy of Report of Marriage notarized by the Consul of the Philippine Embassy-Seoul Old Philippine passport
    • English translation of the Certificate of Naturalization or Basic Certificate (kibunjeungmyeongso) indicating the complete record of the former Filipino citizen: date of acquisition of the foreign citizenship and record of name change (if availed in Korea)
    • Foreign issued passport
    • National ID
  8. Family Registry (Kajeokgwangyejeungmyeongso) in English


For Bureau of Immigration registered applicants:


  1. Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR)
  2. Immigrant Certificate of Residence (ICR)


For children born with former Filipino parent/s:


  1. Application Form
  2. Six (6) pcs. of 2x2 colored pictures (Front) over white background
  3. One (1) pc. of 2x2 colored pictures (Left side view) over white background
  4. One (1) pc. of 2x2 colored pictures (Right side view) over white background
  5. The original and three (3) photocopies of each of the following documents:
    • English Birth Certificate of the child from the hospital
    • Foreign passport
    • Apply for a Report of Birth (requirements may be found here)



Fee for the principal applicant: Krw67,100 / 50USD 
Fee for each dependent / derivative applicant: Krw33,550 / 25USD 

(Additional fees apply for Report of Birth and ePassport/Travel Document application) 

Upon receipt of the Order of Approval, Identification Certificate and Oath of Allegiance, the principal applicant may schedule an appointment for the application of an ePassport at the Embassy. 

For derivative applicants, they may only apply for a Philippine passport after the parent and the child successfully applied for the R.A.9225 and register the birth of the child at the Embassy.
